Yusupha is the mother of 4 children. Her husband passed away in 2015 from a stroke after this, she became a widow and her children became orphans.
Because there was now no sole breadwinner in the family, Yusupha struggled to provide food. Her daily income only carried the family through a day or two at most.
They lived in a tiny flat, with only two tiny rooms between them, and very poor living conditions.
Yusupha had to juggle taking care of her children, and trying to make a living from petty trade and selling fruit at the market stalls. Sometimes, she had to go without so that they could eat.
Now, thanks to the food parcels from Orphans in Need, all of this has changed…
Now that Yusupha receives monthly support and food from Orphans in Need, she has been given some peace of mind.
She’s no longer under pressure to provide the mere basics for her sons and daughters. The delivery of food parcels is consistent each month, and she can now concentrate on earning to put her family through education, and is feeling happier and healthier herself.
She has said it’s ‘heart-warming’ to receive support, and that she enjoys the variety of ingredients that’s provided in the parcels.
