Orphans in Need is a UK charity dedicated to changing the lives of orphans and widows in some of the most deprived areas of the world. Following years of growth and development, we are now looking for a UK Director to manage our operations in the UK. 

We are looking for an exceptional individual that has the commitment and drive to change lives. We’re a fast-growing charity that transforms outcomes for orphans and widows suffering poverty and deprivation across the globe, and our sustainable development projects are winning the battle against starvation, illiteracy and exploitation.

Our UK Director will be an inspiring and engaging leader that will adopt our strategic vision and deliver its realisation through our stakeholders in the UK.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A good understanding and strong appreciation of the work of Orphans in Need
  • A track record of senior leadership at a strategic level
  • Experience of building a developing high performing teams
  • Experience of successfully growing an organisation
  • Experience of representing an organisation and raising its profile

The successful candidate will be at the heart of drawing up and implementing our organisational strategy, working with the Trustees and the senior management team in delivering the overall objectives within our business plan. The UK Director will be supported by a strong and active Trustee board, with whom you will work to deliver the best form of care and support for our beneficiaries.

You will be an enthusiastic communicator with a huge amount of passion as an ambassador for the charity. But above all, you’ll be as passionate about changing lives as we are.

If you have substantial leadership experience and can demonstrate an impressive track record of managing a successful and happy team, of developing strong external links with a wide range of stakeholders from donors to public figures, of ensuring the voice of our beneficiaries is heard, then we would definitely like to hear from you.

Admin Support Assistant / Fundraising Assistant (Bradford)

The Orphans in Need Donor Relations Department is looking for dedicated and enthusiastic staff to support us during the busy Ramadan period. Available to start immediately, you will help the team prepare for our most important time of the year.

As an Admin Support Assistant, you will be working as part of this dynamic team in a fast-paced and busy environment, processing all types of donations in a timely manner. You will also be required to participate in crucial telephone campaigns prior to and during the Ramadan campaign.

Suitable candidates will have experience of providing admin support with the ability to multi task and work effectively in a busy environment. You will have good numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail, coupled with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone. But most importantly, you’ll be determined to make your mark on countless lives.

Fundraising Officer (London)

Orphans in Need is looking to employ a proactive, professional and highly motivated individual to fulfil their potential with our small, dynamic team. We need an individual who is willing to accept the challenging mission of being the Fundraising Officer (London) for Orphans in Need.

Among many responsibilities, you will co-ordinate local campaigns and fundraising activities and constantly find new ways of increasing funds. You will develop, revise and implement the UK fundraising plan and budget for the London region. You will support seasonal fundraising and marketing campaigns and supervise volunteer activities.

You will need to be educated to degree level and have experience in fundraising campaigns and events management. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential as well as being a confident public speaker. You will possess excellent organisational and have good knowledge of contemporary fundraising techniques. Being able to work under pressure and work on own initiative is also essential.
