The sacred act of Qurbani is a traditional animal sacrifice that’s carried out by all eligible Muslims worldwide during the blessed celebration of Eid al-Adha. This is a highly encouraged and very important obligation for able Muslims to fulfil because it’s connected to the meaningful Islamic history of the Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his only son, Ismail (AS). It honours his devotion and loyalty to Allah (SWT) for never wavering from His command. Since this first animal sacrifice, Qurbani has been done during Eid, and believers spend their time reflecting the same devotion and obedience to Allah (SWT) as the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) did. However, due to Muslims living all around the globe, most cannot carry out the sacrifice themselves because of strict slaughter regulations. This means that now, Qurbani is typically a charitable donation that allows organisations to handle the sacrifice on behalf of the believer to fulfil the act of worship and help those in desperate need.
At Orphans in Need, we take your Qurbani donations online and carry out the sacrifice process on your behalf. Our team select the healthiest animals and sorts out the distribution of the meat, providing those who are in need with proper nutrition that saves their lives. Your donation can spread the joys of Eid to so many vulnerable communities around the world, giving them dignity, better health and hope for a bright future away from poverty and hardship.
Many wonder, “Can you give Qurbani online?”, since so many Muslims cannot perform the sacrifice themselves. It is permissible today to fulfil your act of worship through an online donation to a charitable organisation, such as Orphans in Need. We handle your whole sacrifice in line with Islamic regulations, so that you don’t have to worry about it being done correctly. By achieving the act of worship in this way, you get to help those facing unimaginable poverty and hunger, relieving their suffering and allowing them to join in with the celebrations of Eid. We distribute all of the meat from your sacrifice to vulnerable families around the world with limited resources and access to nutritious food. For most of these orphans, widows and struggling families, this is the only time of the whole year when they get fresh, quality meat, meaning that it’s a lifeline for them and a way to be included in Eid.
Your Qurbani donation online through us is extremely important for so many orphans, widows and struggling families. This is because the meat from the sacrifice isn’t divided into three equal parts, as in the traditional way, but it’s all given to those who need it. Those living in poverty, hardship, conflict and devastation directly benefit from your act of worship because it supplies them with vital nourishment that ends their hunger, restores their dignity and provides hope for a better future.
As well as this, giving Qurbani online allows you to fulfil your obligation, without having to worry about doing the sacrifice yourself when you can’t. We take on the whole process of your sacrifice on your behalf and make sure it’s done correctly and within the days of Eid al-Adha. You can make your donation before Eid begins to ensure that we carry out your Qurbani during the right timeframe to make it valid, so you don’t have to worry. This means that you easily fulfil this sacred act and show devotion and obedience to Allah (SWT), while remembering the great sacrifice of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
To give Qurbani online, there are specific Islamic regulations that dictate when a Muslim must do this sacrifice. These are similar to the rules of Zakat, meaning that a Muslim must be sane and past the age of puberty. They must also not be travelling during Eid al-Adha and must have wealth beyond their basic needs. This means that they must meet or exceed the Nisab threshold of 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver and the equivalent of these values in other assets. However, the difference for Qurbani compared to Zakat is that a believer doesn’t have to possess this wealth for a full lunar year. It’s just based on whether they meet or exceed the Nisab during the time of Eid al-Adha.
With Qurbani, there’s a specific timeframe when the sacrifice must be carried out to make it valid. If the sacrifice isn’t done during this timeframe, then it only counts as Sadaqah and not Qurbani. The timeline is from the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, which is the day of Eid al-Adha, after the Eid prayer and can be done during the days of tashreeq, which are the three extra days after the celebration. So, sacrifices must be completed during the 10th, 11, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah, before the sun sets on the last day to make it valid.
To make sure that your sacrifice is done during these days, and to make it count as Qurbani, you should give your Qurbani donation online as early as possible before Eid al-Adha begins. Doing this not only makes your Qurbani count and fulfil your act of worship, but it also ensures that the meat from your sacrifice reaches the hungry in time for them to be included in the celebrations of Eid.
With your Qurbani online donation, we help orphans, widows and struggling families facing hardship, hunger and devastation in poverty-stricken areas and conflict zones. This means that your sacrifice brings them hope and supports these vulnerable people who, without it, struggle to put food on the table and afford the basic necessities. Your Qurbani meat is a blessing for them because it helps to end their hunger and brings them joy, being the only time of the year when they have access to fresh, quality meat. Our team works to end the suffering of countless orphans, widows and families in these impoverished regions and focuses on easing the burden of poverty for them, providing them with a better future.
Make your Qurbani donation online this Eid al-Adha with Orphans in Need to fulfil this important act of worship, while supporting vulnerable families who are facing extreme poverty, hunger and hardship. Your online Qurbani for 2026 helps to fight hunger and starvation, bring comfort, dignity and hope, and spread the joys of Eid to orphans, widows and struggling families around the world.
