The 21st century is well and truly underway, yet communities around the world continue to face hunger and its many challenges. In fact, the Food and Agriculture Organization estimates that we entered 2022 with 828 million hungry people. This equates to around 10% of the global population, which just shows how vital it is to find an effective, lasting solution to the hunger crisis.
The multi-faceted approach of sustainable agricultural innovation not only addresses the root causes of hunger but also mitigates environmental degradation, which promotes economic development. Precision agriculture is an important factor in agricultural innovation, as it makes use of data analytics, sensors, and GPS technology to produce tailored farming practices to unique field conditions. Drought is just one of the problems caused by climate change; it can also result in flooding, intense heat, and bitter coldness.
