Gambia Deployment

Would you like to deliver aid to orphans and widows in person?

Now is your chance! Join Orphans in Need and travel with us to The Gambia for a challenging and rewarding opportunity and give back to vulnerable orphans and widows in person.

Distribute thousands of life-saving food parcels to the needy, visit them in schools, help to cook nutritious meals, and participate in fun activities with our amazing children.

Working on the ground will provide you with the unique opportunity to make a direct impact that alleviates the suffering of orphaned children and widowed mothers.

Together, we can save lives.

Nearly half of all Gambians live below the poverty line, and over 17.5% of children suffer stunted growth and malnourishment.

Working as part of the Orphans in Need family, you will gain an intimate understanding of the struggles orphans and widows are facing in The Gambia and make a real difference in their lives.

Limited spaces are available. Don’t miss out!

To register your interest, fill out the form below. Then sit tight, and we will send you a detailed information pack explaining everything you need to know.

In November, the average temperature in Gambia is humid and warm, with average temperatures of 28°C, reaching highs of 31°C in the afternoon. The UV levels are high so you’ll need to regularly drink plenty of water and apply sun cream. Around 90mm of rain’s expected this month, so it’s likely you’ll experience some wet weather at this time of year, but showers are usually short-lived.

Clothes that are comfortable and loose fitting, preferably cotton or linen. We provide hats for protection against the strong midday sun and we ask you to wear comfortable shoes, such as trainers during field work.
