Community Fundraising Coordinator – London

We are now seeking a passionate and organised Community Fundraising Coordinator to help amplify our impact and strengthen our community connections.


Role Summary:

The Community Fundraising Coordinator will lead the planning and delivery of creative and impactful fundraising initiatives across the UK and beyond. This includes organising treks, challenges, fundraising tours, and community events, while also serving as a public representative of the charity on TV, social media, and public platforms.

A key part of this role involves building and nurturing relationships with mosques, community groups, and faith-based or non-faith-based institutions, as well as supporting deployment trips to project areas abroad. You will also work collaboratively across departments—including Supporter Relations, Marketing, and Programmes—to ensure alignment and success in all campaigns.


Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and sustain strong relationships with community organisations, mosques, schools, colleges, and other institutions.
  • Develop a network of volunteers, local ambassadors, and fundraisers to support campaigns.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the charity in community events and public forums.

Campaigns, Events & Fundraising Tours

  • Plan and deliver a variety of fundraising activities, including:
    • Treks and challenge events (local, national, international)
    • Fundraising tours (local and national)
    • Charity dinners, campaigns, and seasonal drives
  • Provide support and motivation to fundraisers and participants.
  • Work with the Marketing team to promote events and maximize reach.

Deployments & Media Representation

  • Lead deployment trips to overseas project areas (subject to travel).
  • Represent the charity on TV, radio, podcasts, livestreams, and in social media content.
  • Share impact stories and insights from the field to engage supporters.

Collaboration & Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate closely with Supporter Relations, Marketing, and Programmes teams to align messaging and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall community fundraising strategy.
  • Plan ahead and manage project timelines in line with campaign calendars.

Budgeting & Reporting

  • Create and manage budgets for events and tours, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Track income, monitor performance, and report on key KPIs.
  • Maintain accurate records using the CRM system.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Experience in fundraising, event management, or community outreach.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Confident public speaker, comfortable in media settings and social platforms.
  • Strong organisational and planning abilities, with experience managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of the UK Muslim community and Islamic charitable giving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and occasionally lead international trips.
  • Deep understanding and empathy for humanitarian causes, particularly supporting orphans and widows.
  • UK driving license.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in the charity or nonprofit sector.
  • Fluency in an additional language such as Urdu, Arabic, or Bengali.
