Following the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have taken several steps at Orphans in Need for the welfare of our stakeholders. Here’s what we’re doing to protect our beneficiaries, staff and supporters.
We have issued guidance to all of the carers of our children, promoting good hygiene and social distancing in line with local government guidelines. Our food parcel distributions for Ramadan will include increased quantities of sanitation products, in line with local availability.
Masks and sanitisers have been purchased for our children and staff in our orphan homes.
Orphans in Need has issued a Personal Hygiene Grant for staff who work at our orphan homes. These grants will allow them to buy hygiene and sanitation supplies for themselves and their families. This will ensure safety and cleanliness amongst our front line staff, particularly as they are direct carers of our children.
In line with UK Government advice, arrangements have been made for essential staff to maintain social distance when travelling to and at work. Where possible, staff have been authorised to work from home.
In these times of uncertainty, we request that you bear patience with our staff and our call centre, who continue to work hard to help those most vulnerable around the world. We will strive to respond to all communications as soon as possible.
