Empowering Vulnerable Children Through Sponsorship Program

It gives them a chance to escape their poor living conditions by equipping them with appropriate shelter, education and support so they can go on to build a life that is full of promise and potential.

Access to food, healthcare, education, shelter and emotional support are the fundamentals every young child should have, but there are a number of children in communities around the world who are deprived of these very basic essentials.

A True Story of a Boy Working in a Factory in Pakistan

Meet 8-year-old orphan Allah Ditta from Pakistan. He works in a brick kiln factory every day to support his younger siblings. Being the oldest in his family with no parents.

Millions of children live without the love and protection of families, with nothing more than a piece of cardboard for a blanket and neglect almost guaranteed. No child should have to live such a bleak and painful life, but your donations can help elevate these children into a promising and hopeful future.

We support over 40,000 orphan children in 13 countries, including India, Kashmir, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Palestine (Gaza), Gambia, Kenya, Mali, Somalia, Sierra Leone and Senegal.

There are so many more children around the world who need our help, and that’s why we’re asking for your support so we can provide every child with a home, access to healthcare, plentiful food and a loving support system.

How Orphan Sponsorship Works

Your £30 monthly donation will be used to improve every aspect of a child’s life by lifting them out of deprivation and giving them access to food, shelter, education, medical support and a safe living environment.

With your help, we can end the abuse and exploitation of thousands of more children and give them the tools they need, and access to opportunities that will help build a promising life for themselves.

For £30 a month – that’s just £1 a day - you can provide priceless support to our Orphan Sponsorship Programme.

Your kind donation will help to provide food, shelter, clothing, medical care, education, clean drinking water and loving care.

We use a small fraction of your donation as a contingency which means if a child’s sponsorship is ended by the donor, we can continue to provide them with the care and support they have been receiving. Each child has their own needs, so we also use a small percentage of your donations to research and work to find the best assistance for each child, ensuring that it meets our strict high standards.

We would love to be able to help every child that needs it, but we have to prioritise children based on their current circumstances. Younger children, those with little to no familial support, those with medical care requirements and those without shelter take precedence.

We look at the level of poverty and risk of danger as a key deciding factor. We do not prioritise a certain gender; we base our decision on the level of urgency.

We support orphan children long-term. Our aim is to give each child a good education that will open up access to job opportunities, with the end goal being that the child grows up to become self-sufficient and capable of supporting themselves. We will not end sponsorship and care until we are certain that the orphan is stable and no longer requires our help.
Sponsorship can be ended early if circumstances change. Sometimes, a relative of the orphan may come forward and offer to take guardianship. If we feel like the orphan will have good access to decent shelter, education food, clothes and – most importantly – emotional care and love, we will end the sponsorship.

Alternatively, orphans can be adopted. In this case, we carefully and extensively assess their potential new home and parents to ensure their key needs are met before we end the sponsorship.

We actively encourage every donor to write to their orphan in order to create a special bond.

We currently work with orphans in 13 countries: Somalia, Gambia, Kenya, Nepal, Mali, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Palestine (Gaza), Pakistan, India and Kashmir, Sierra Leone and Senegal.

We have extensive teams in all of these locations which make it possible for you to sponsor a child from the UK and make a difference around the globe.

We operate one of the best child sponsorship programs because our focus is always on the children. We provide support to those who so desperately need it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Our 10+ years of experience has seen so many positive results from the orphans we’ve been able to help. Our dedicated team take on parental roles and give constant and full attention to the children in our care. Our teams in the UK and our ELD countries work together to deliver the best and most comprehensive care.

We operate solely to help orphans and so do not run other aid programmes or emergency responses. This allows us to focus all our attention on the children who need us and give them all the resources we can to help them prosper.

We understand that some donors want to send gifts to their sponsored child, but this is not something we encourage or accommodate. There are a few reasons for this, the first being that our orphans are housed either in our orphan village or in homes and residences in poor areas where there are lots of other children in need. To prevent any child feeling left out, we don’t accept gifts, but we do accept donations of £20 that go into a gift fund that is used to provide gifts for every child at prominent times of the year such as Eid.
