March for Orphans 2015

Tie up those shoelaces for the ultimate walking event of the year- MARCH for Orphans!

Taking place across 4 iconic locations in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Cardiff, bring along your family, friends, and even the neighbours to march 5km to help Orphans in Need!

We will be marching together to raise much needed funds to construct a loving home for our Kashmir orphans. So come on down for this fun challenge that the whole family can enjoy, and MARCH with us to ‘Make A Real Change Happen’!

Where and When...

21st MARCH | QUEEN ELIZABETH OLYMPIC PARK | 11am-2pm

London Map
March for Orphans in London’s iconic Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Created as part of the 2012 Olympics, the park boasts scenic routes and the UK’s tallest structure – The ArcelorMittal Orbit!

We will begin from Stratford Walk (near the Aquatics Centre) at 11am. All registered participants must sign in at the Orphans in Need desk upon arrival,

where you can pick up your free t-shirt. We will have reps dressed in blue pointing you in the right direction so you can’t miss us!

Please note: Registration will begin at 9:30am and close at 10:30am sharp, so please ensure that you arrive promptly.

28th MARCH | BUTE PARK | 3pm-6pm

Cardiff Map
Bute Park is the principal park of the city of Cardiff. Its stunning landscaped gardens, bordered by the River Taff, once formed the grounds of Cardiff Castle.

All registered participants must sign in at the Orphans in Need desk upon arrival, where you can pick up your free t-shirt. Look out for the Orphans in Need reps dressed in blue that will help you find your way! Don’t forget to bring proof of your registration confirmation!

Please note: Registration will begin at 2pm and close at 3pm sharp, so please ensure that you arrive promptly.

21st MARCH | LICKEY HILLS COUNTRY PARK | 11am-2pm

Birmingham Map
Spanning over 524 acres, March for Orphans through the Lickey Hills Country Park- one of Birmingham’s most varied and treasured parks.

All registered participants must sign in at the Orphans in Need desk upon arrival, where you can pick up your free t-shirt.

Don’t forget to bring proof of your registration confirmation!

28th MARCH | LISTER PARK | 2pm-5pm

Bradford Map
Awarded as Britain’s Best Park in 2006, Lister Park offers picturesque views that the whole family can enjoy.

All registered participants must sign in at the Orphans in Need desk upon arrival, where you can pick up your free t-shirt. Look out for the Orphans in Need reps dressed in blue that will help you find your way! Don’t forget to bring proof of your registration confirmation!

You can never tell what the great British skies will churn out, so keep an eye on the forecasts and dress accordingly!

Other Pedestrians!

The parks will still be in use by members of public so stay within the route and close to your Orphans in Need group!

Can’t Make it?

If you can’t make it to the walk, why not organise one yourself? Grab your friends and family and take part in your own MARCH for Orphans at your convenience. It’s fun for everyone and Orphans In Need will provide you with all the help you need; from balloons, t-shirts to helpful tips.

FAQs

  • How do I register?

    Please visit march4orphans.eventbrite.co.uk and follow the instructions on booking your place. You will be asked for your payment details.

  • How much does it cost?

    The registration fee is £5 for adults aged 16 and over. This is non-refundable. Children aged 15 years and under go free.

  • How much sponsorship money do

    The minimum we ask you to raise in sponsorships is £100. However, you may choose to set yourself a higher target as all funds will go towards our Kashmir Orphanage project.

  • What if I can't raise the whol

    Please contact march4orphans@orphansinneed.org, and we would be happy to discuss with you ways that can help you reach your target.

  • How fit do I have to be?

    The march is not strenuous, however we encourage everyone to have a basic level of fitness.

  • How long does it take to walk

    This is dependent on individual walking pace. It takes the average person to walk 5km between 40 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Is there a minimum age limit t

    There is no minimum age limit. All children must be accompanied by adults.
